Leaving Facebook

Posted on June 10, 2012

I originally re-opened my Facebook account in 2009 because I got a job where I needed one for application development. I still need one for application development and am keeping one active for that reason. However, I am leaving the social network for all intents and purposes and have removed all personal data from their clutches using a lovely app for Android called Exfoliate.

While I certainly have disdain for Facebook's politics and philosophies, my primary reason for abandoning it (again) has more to do with the fact that I do not find that I have the sorts of interactions I like on Facebook. It is not conducive to the social networking I like to do. That is, namely, finding new people and having meaningful discussions with friends I do not see on a regular basis. That said I am not sure what (existing) social network provides the latter besides LiveJournal, which nobody seems to use anymore (sadly).

You can still find me on Twitter and on my own social network, Anyone Want To.

And, of course, you can also contact me through more traditional means as well.
