I get up in the morning because I love solving challenging problems. My objective is to identify and collaborate with people who possess exceptional character, talent, and skills. Only in those precious collaborations can we truly simulatenously grow and work at our highest level. I apply these accumulated skills and experiences as a freelancer, a mentor, or as part of a team to produce the best work possible for the circumstances.

At Compose I designed and lead the creation of the next-generation Compose API. This API bridged the existing Compose database hosting platform with Watson's data storage strategy. Today, this integration powers the majority of the Watson group's data layer needs. Moving forward, the API layer I built is at the center of IBM Cloud Databases, the next generation cloud database product from IBM that runs on top of a modern Kubernetes stack. While at Compose I championed an emphasis on design-first engineering culture, pushed us to 100% test coverage, and introduced a more modular, re-usable, functional approach to application architecture.
Through the 2000s I've worked within over a dozen early-stage technology companies as a senior-level or founding engineer. I generally help companies with 2-3x coding chops, mentorship & education, team-building / hiring / vetting, project planning, architecture, and fundraising.
Anyone Want To was a location-based social discovery application that physically converged people for spontaneous and topical activities. It was built on innovative technologies such as CanJS, nodejs, Redis, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, and Rails. The application featured a realtime, responsive UI for desktop and mobile platforms.
While at ReelzChannel I was responsible for the layout of articles and various aspects of the site, interpreting content composed in Word into visually engaging and usable webpages. I coded by hand in HTML and CSS, designing graphics in Adobe and miscellaneous open-source applications.
While at Telex I worked with a large variety of intercom products, assisting such organizations as the NFL, ESPN, NASA, CBS, MTV, and others. While there I also maintained the website for the Telex Legacy product line.
