Elementary Particles
Sunshine strikes concrete
ubran morning lightning, lit by nature,
like waves on the rocks
or particulate pouring sand.
Sunday morning,
oceanic wash of energy...
little children, elementary particles
with the coffee they are too young to appreciate;
generously heating tiny fingers
the stomach and the mouth
caffeine exacerbating the
bouncing like Brownian
motion!
Cultural Eavesdroping
I'd like to treat your perspective as a dialect of reason
(I eavesdrop on your culture)
And all of your friends transpose with the seasons
(loving the method of our madness)
But contemporary wisdom chimes cliches that you echo
and the infatuary method is the bride of your hope...
a formal marriage in reality, but in the ether they elope
Urban Sprawl
You can take the hand of these genuine courageous souls
they will lift you above the din of the streets
when lights and stars, thin breezes pushing exhaust from cars
catches your lungs
trips your rhythm
but cold showers wrestle your mind awake
and the puddles that sprawl around the walkways
wave goodbye as you pass their undulating gaze
heat, chiseling a path through the cool air
trapped in tar, and tiny meadows of grass
that affectionately monitor the progress of progress
above the concrete
