Former Senator Mike Gravel has his eyes on Korea.

Senator Gravel, my Prez. candidate of choice in 2008, is traveling to S. Korea to attempt to assist their democracy in founding a modern National Initiative system.

It's a fascinating and noble venture to which I donated some money.  I would love to see a real national initiative in practice that might be used as a model to bring power to the people here in the States.

Just the other day I was having a discussion with my parents about how the constitution does not technically afford the right to vote - and that lawmaking is the foundation of democracy, not voting.  Think about it.  Laws determine how voting happens.  How, then, can voting be the foundation of democracy?  It can't.  And that's why representative democracy has proven itself to be inadequate (at least in diverse populations).

Rep. Alan Grayson asks the Federal Reserve Inspector General about the trillions of dollars lent or spent by the Federal Reserve and where it went, and the trillions of off balance sheet obligations. Inspector General Elizabeth Coleman responds that the IG does not know and is not tracking where this money is.

Visit to San Francisco

By Dan Connor on 15-May-09 00:00. Comments (0)

I will be visiting San Francisco on my second-to-last trip from May 17 to May 20 before we move at the end of June.  This trip will be about distributing resumes, meeting employers, and signing a lease.  So, if any potential employers are reading this - please make contact so we can connect.

DanConnor.com now running ModX!

I have switched over to a new open source CMS called ModX.  It's absolutely brilliant and highly customizable, reflecting nicely how my web skills have developed.  It's also completely tableless.  Joomla was fine for a while but, really, ended up needing a lot of hacking to accomplish what I wanted.  ModX feels like you're constantly hacking - but in a good way.  An "I can do this!" kind of way.
