I seek to work that combines autonomy and collaboration; one where my skills and talents can be leveraged effectively in concert with the complimentary skills and talents of others. I get out of bed in morning because I enjoy learning and solving interesting problems. Industrious and sincere, I will help you achieve your goals for your next project.

Anyone Want To is a realtime web application for broadcasting what people want to do right this minute to a geographic area. People use it to find out if anyone wants to play a game of football, have a discussion, or see a movie. Or, if people feel bored, they can sit on the channel for their area and see what others want to do as it updates in real time. Built on innovative technologies such as JavascriptMVC, node.js, and Rails, the application features nearly instantaneous, responsive UI and functions extremely well on mobile platforms.
As a freelancer I regularly deploy and administer secure infrastructure for politically sensitive clients, provide ecommerce solutions for small businesses, and build widgets & interfaces for corporations. Additionally I excel at working as a web "producer", organizing freelance design firms and content creators to create sustainable web presences for clients who do not have the time, expertise, or resources to manage such things themselves. I work both remotely and locally throughout North America but especially Vancouver, BC.
One of the first hires at the San Francisco crowdsourcing startup Servio, I helped build a robust framework based on Ruby and jQuery from scratch. On this framework rests the CloudCrowd platform. CloudCrowd splits up complex projects into its smallest constituent parts, serves them to a vast pool of workers via a Facebook application, then recombines them using sophisticated work-flows. My job has been to build and maintain the proprietary Javascript template engine that renders the tasks inside the Facebook chrome, to devise and implement reusable widgets that aide workers in completing their tasks, and to implement websites for the company's various business verticals. Despite a heavy frontend focus, I also spent much of my time working in Servio's particular variation of Ruby on Rails, aiding backend development efforts wherever it made sense.
Blab-lab was my pet project: a social directory dedicated to making it easier for creative people everywhere to find collaborators who share their values, interests, and who have the skills needed to complete their projects. Blab-lab was an application running Ruby on Rails and jQuery, of which I was the sole developer.
While at ReelzChannel I was responsible for the layout of articles and various aspects of the site, interpreting content composed in Word into visually engaging and useable webpages. I coded by hand in HTML and CSS, designing graphics in Adobe and miscellaneous open-source applications.
While at Telex I worked with a large variety of intercom products, assisting such organizations as the NFL, ESPN, NASA, CBS, MTV, and others. While there I also maintained the website for the Telex Legacy product line.
